Elevating Support for LRSD's Educational Assistants
On February 2, 2024, LRSD hosted a comprehensive Professional Development (PD) Day tailored for our Educational Assistants (EAs). The PD Day delved into crucial aspects of the EA role and the intricacies of the Student Planning Process, offering valuable insights and tools to further empower these essential members of our educational community.
Throughout the session, participants engaged in dynamic and interactive discussions, exploring various topics related to their roles.
One of the topics explored was job responsibilities, emphasizing the multifaceted nature of the EA role within the school.
EAs learned about the nuances of Workplace Safety & Health, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and resources to foster a secure and conducive learning environment.
Neurodiversity was another topic, highlighting the importance of understanding and embracing the unique needs of every student. EAs gained valuable insights into effectively supporting students with diverse learning profiles, fostering inclusivity and equity within the classroom.
The session also went over Student Specific Plans & Planning, equipping EAs with strategies to collaboratively develop and implement personalized plans tailored to meet individual student needs.
