  • Annual Report to the Community 2018-19

Today, the Louis Riel School Division (LRSD) officially released their 2018-2019 Annual Report to the Community (ARC).

"Bold and audacious are two words which describe many conversations among the Louis Riel School Board and the LRSD Senior Leadership Team throughout the 2018-2019 school year," said Sandy Nemeth, Louis Riel School Board Chair. "It was also a wonderful period of achievement and success for students, staff and our greater community, as you will see in our ARC."

As Indigenous cultures and teachings continue to guide many conversations and decisions in LRSD, the division looked to the Indigenous Circle of Courage and how its principles of Belonging, Mastery, Independence and Generosity create a whole learner approach to education. These four fundamental principles were incorporated into the annual report to illuminate LRSD's commitment to providing a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment, where personal and collective learning are valued, and each person reaches their full potential.

"I am proud to share our ARC that features many inspiring stories that highlight just a fraction of the achievements and successes of the more than 15,500 students in the care of 2,148 staff across 40 schools in LRSD," said Christian Michalik, LRSD Superintendent. "Readers looking for a bunch of numbers and charts in the report may be disappointed. While it does contain some, our ARC is meant to tell the stories that breathe life into the numbers and the charts, and I believe we've done just that with this report."
