Did you know?

The Technology Department from the Louis Riel School Division is proud to announce that we have launched the Microsoft Student Advantage program in Louis Riel School Division. This program enables all students in Grades 3-12 to have access to Microsoft Office 2013 for free. This software can be installed on up to 5 personal devices and can be used as long as the students are enrolled in our school division. New Student Registrations:

If you are new to our area, you can determine which high school you will attend by using the school locator link or by calling your local school.
For new registrations, please contact the school at (204) 257-2928 to make an appointment. A parent must accompany the student. Please bring identification, a current utility bill with the parent/guardian name on it showing your address and your Manitoba Health card. Students going into Grades 10-12 will need a transcript from his/her previous school. Students going into Grade 9 will need to bring a June report card from Grade 8.

Synrevoice announcements:

Synrevoice announcements will be posted on the website after they have gone out to allow parents and students to review them.  Please check here if you missed an announcement. 

April 14:  Mid term report cards were distributed to students on Friday, April 11, 2014. Any unclaimed report cards can be picked up at the school office. If you have
any questions, please contact the school at 204-257-2928. Thank you.

Apr. 11:  The Louis Riel School Division is currently looking for families to host International Exchange students who will be arriving at the end of August. The students are high school age and are eager to learn English and to participate in Canadian culture. We ask our host families to welcome the students into their homes for a minimum of three months. Families who have helped us in the past generally speak very positively of their involvement and often feel that their own lives have been enriched by the experience. Families are compensated $650 monthly to contribute towards related expenses. If you or somebody you know would like more information, please contact Evelyn Sieben at 204-257-7827.

Mar. 21:  The Safe Grad Committee is running a Sobeys Gift Card fundraiser from Friday, March 21 until Wednesday, April 9. Order forms are to be dropped off at the school office no later than April 9. Cards will be ready for pick up on Wednesday, April 30 in front of the office from 2:30-5:30 pm.

Feb. 5Grad Photos begin Monday, February 24 to Thursday, March 6, 2014 in the Library. Appointments must be scheduled in advance at the school office, during a student’s spare. All graduates must be photographed to ensure everyone is included on the Class Composite. Only LifeTouch photos will be used on the composite and in the Yearbook. There is a $20 sitting fee to be paid at the time of your session. Cash or cheque accepted - payable to Lifetouch Canada Inc. An 11” x 14” graduating class composite is available for purchase at time of photography for $25. It will be mailed home at a later date. Students should arrive 10 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment time. You may book your appointment now.

Feb. 4:  For parents of Gr. 9 students:  Students have received an Immunization Consent form for the TDAP booster. Please return the form to the school office by Friday, Feb. 7.  Immunizations will take place on Tuesday, March 11.  Please note that the forms are still required to be returned even if you have indicated "No I do not consent".  If you have any questions regarding the Grade 9 Immunization, please contact the Public Health Office at 204-940-2423. If you did not receive a form, they may pick one up at the school office.

Jan. 10:  The Winnipeg Police Service Media Release is available on the J.H. Bruns website under the Parent Tab.

Parent Portal: 

Please note that NO password is necessary for the Parent Portal.  If you wish to access the student portal, you may use your son/daughter's password or a parent password.  Please call the office to recieve this parent password.  Parent passwords for the Student Portal will also be available at the next Parent Council Meeting and at Parent Teacher Conferences. 

Student Parking - 2013-2014 school year:

Student parking in the Southdale Community Centre for the 2013/14 school year will be available on a semester or full year basis only. Students(and staff)can purchase a semester pass or a school year pass. Semester passes will cost $75 and the annual pass will be $120. For more information contact the SCC at 204-257-6171.
