Monday Afternoon Schedule Change – The Fourth R Performance - April 27th
On Monday afternoon, all students will attend The Fourth R performance in the gym. This is a high‑energy dance show that uses music, movement, and video to explore how human activity affects the environment—no words, just powerful storytelling.
Important attendance information:
- D‑Slot will dismiss at 2:20 p.m.
- All students must go to their E‑Slot class at 2:25 p.m. for attendance
- After attendance is taken, teachers will bring classes to the gym together
The performance will run from 2:30–3:30 p.m. Please follow staff directions to ensure a smooth and respectful transition.
Caregiver Conferences - April 30th
- Book with your student's teacher through Conference Manager. Conference are held in the gym.
- Parent Info Session 5:00 - 5:30 - Library
- Attend an information session from Newcomers Employment and Education Development Services (N.E.E.D.S.) Inc.to learn about the services offered and how to get involved.
- NMC Night Market - Cafeteria
We are excited to announce the first‑ever NMC Night Market! On April 30, families are invited to register for Caregiver Conferences to meet NMC teachers, then stop by the cafeteria to celebrate our student entrepreneurs, artists, crafters, and makers.
The NMC Night Market will be open from 4:00–7:00 p.m. Please note that student vendors will be accepting cash only. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Ms. Koch at julianne.koch@lrsd.net.

Bike Safety
As the weather is getting nicer, many students will be planning to ride their bikes to school. Please ensure that you bring a bike lock as there is no storage available inside the school and we no longer have a coded bike storage area. Bikes are to be locked on the bike rack at the Highfield Street entrance. Be careful riding and follow road safety rules.

Academic Labs
A reminder to all NMC students, if you are looking for some extra help with schoolwork or need to catch up on overdue assignments before the end of term, you are strongly encouraged to attend our Academic Labs during late start Wednesdays. The labs will run from 8:30-9:30am and there are staff members present to assist you.
Controlled Access Procedures:
As part of our updated controlled access measures, please remember:
- Everyone must enter through the front doors. Staff will not open exterior doors for students or visitors.
- All exterior doors will remain locked during school hours. Families, visitors, and community members must use the video-enabled doorbell at the main entrance.
- Visitors must sign in at the office, receive a badge, and sign out when they leave.
- Students should exit the building by 4:00 PM unless participating in a supervised activity.
These procedures support a safe, welcoming, single point of entry for our school community. Thank you for helping maintain a secure environment for all.
