Bike Safety

As the weather is getting nicer, many students will be planning to ride their bikes to school. Please ensure that you bring a bike lock as there is no storage available inside the school and we no longer have a coded bike storage area. Bikes are to be locked on the bike rack at the Highfield Street entrance. Be careful riding and follow road safety rules.

2026 Safe Grad Updates

Next Safe Grad Planning Meeting – Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 7:00 pm in the school library. All graduating students and their parents are invited to attend. Watch your email inbox for more details! Please plan to attend.

The first fundraiser is in full swing: Chocolate Covered Almonds are available for pick up at the school office during school hours. A case of 20 boxes costs $100.00; cash, debit, or credit card payment options are available. This fundraiser nets the Safe Grad the best profit margin.

(You’ll quickly and easily make your $100 back when you sell the case!)

Open your Heart, Open Your Home

NMC Night Market

When: Thursday, April 30th from 4 to 7pm.

Where: Hosted in the Nelson McIntyre Collegiate Cafeteria located at 188 St. Mary’s Road.

Theme/Focus: Our focus for this event is to celebrate student crafter-preneurs and share the talented makers of NMC! Register for Caregiver Conferences, come meet the teachers of NMC, then stop by the NMC Night Market from 4 to 7pm to see some of the creative works of NMC.

Hosted by the NMC Textile Arts Program. No admission cost.

Attention Grade 12 Students:

Lifetouch will be coming to NMC for Grad Photos April 6, 7 and 8. 

This is your last opportunity for photos or retakes.

Academic Labs

A reminder to all NMC students, if you are looking for some extra help with schoolwork or need to catch up on overdue assignments before the end of term, you are strongly encouraged to attend our Academic Labs during late start Wednesdays. The labs will run from 8:30-9:30am and there are staff members present to assist you. 

Language Lab Volunteers Needed

We are looking for NMC students who are comfortable speaking English to partner up with students who are looking for some extra practice with their language skills. We need people to join our Language Lab on Wednesday mornings from 8:30-9:30am. The hours you spend volunteering can be put towards a volunteer credit. If you are interested, please reach out to your Student Services teacher and let them know.

Controlled Access Procedures:

As part of our updated controlled access measures, please remember:

• Everyone must enter through the front doors. Staff will not open exterior doors for students or visitors.

• All exterior doors will remain locked during school hours. Families, visitors, and community members must use the video-enabled doorbell at the main entrance.

• Visitors must sign in at the office, receive a badge, and sign out when they leave.

• Students should exit the building by 4:00 PM unless participating in a supervised activity.

These procedures support a safe, welcoming, single point of entry for our school community. Thank you for helping maintain a secure environment for all.
