Musical Performance - Freaky Friday!

Musical tickets for Freaky Friday are on sale in the school library for $10 each.

Thursday, December 11th at 12:30pm and 7pm

Friday, December 12th at 12:20pm and 7pm 

The Freaky Friday Musical is taking place at the Centre Culturel Franco-Manitobain Pauline Boutal Theatre located at 340 Provencher Blvd.

MPR Closed Monday

The MPR will be closed Monday during lunch and spare due to Musical Theatre final preparations. Students are encouraged to find another space such as the cafeteria or the library during those times. The MPR will only be available for scheduled classes.

If you are a staff member supervising in the weight room at lunch if you could please be mindful that the MPR is closed and discourage students from using that space, that would be appreciated. 

Winter Solstice Celebration

Our Indigenous Youth Leadership group is planning a very special Winter Solstice Celebration for the evening of December 18th.

The NMC Student Leadership Groups are collaborating to Celebrate Everything in December. Listen for announcements, watch for cafeteria specials, keep an eye on IG and check out the display case, which features Hanukkah, Christmas, Winter Solstice, Ukrainian Christmas and Nigerian Winter.

Gowns for Grad

The Gowns for Grad program will be starting soon. If the idea of purchasing a grad dress is prohibitive, if you and your family cannot afford it, this program might be for you. Ms. Barrett is taking names of students who are graduating in June and are in need of a dress to wear. We will be able to go look at and try on dresses in spring, and if you like it and it fits, you get to wear it to grad and keep it. There is also a program for those who want to wear a suit and need help finding one, but that program hasn't started yet. SO! If you want to be included, please message Ms. Barrett and she will add you to the list. 

Winter Route Parking Ban

The City will be declaring this morning the Annual Winter Route Parking Ban to start on December 3rd and I’d appreciate you reaching out to schools in your divisions to post the following message/s (for two weeks if possible).

Join the LRSD Powwow Club!

Powwow Club is a joyful and inclusive space where students, families, and community members come together to celebrate Indigenous culture through storytelling, games, language learning, and dance. Each session is supported by volunteers who help create a welcoming and enriching experience for all.

We invite you to explore the attached Powwow Club Volunteer Sign-Up Sheet to see how you can contribute. Whether you're greeting guests, serving snacks, or supporting cultural stations, or providing general supervision, your presence makes a difference. Let’s walk together in the spirit of community and celebration!

Sessions run from 6:00–7:30 PM at Lavallee/René Deleurme Centre (505/511 St. Anne’s Road) on select Wednesday evenings throughout the school year.

School Messenger App - Safe Arrival is a new system that makes reporting student absences easier and faster. We hope to have all parents using this system for reporting absences as soon as possible. Because this is new for staff and parents, we appreciate your patience as we all familiarize ourselves with this new system. Families will need to download the "School Messenger" app to create their account here and further information is available here.  Please ensure you use the phone number and email address that is associated with your child in PowerSchool. Thank you to all the families who’ve already used the Safe Arrival system and School Messenger App to report their child’s absence and know that you do not need to notify the school separately if the absence has been entered in Safe Arrival. Please contact the office with any questions.

Grad - $60 (Includes Convocation, Grad Gown and Cap, Grad Photo Sitting Fee)

Athletics - Varies dependent on the sport

School Fees can be paid on-line through the Parent Portal (School Cash) or at the school in the office with cash, credit/debit or cheque.
