The Louis Riel School Division extends its sincere gratitude to Ron Cadez as he prepares to retire after 32 years of service in public education.

Ron has spent his entire career serving students, families, colleagues, and school communities in Saint-Boniface and, following amalgamation, in the Louis Riel School Division. Over the course of his career, he served as a teacher, school administrator, divisional principal, Director of School and Classroom Supports, and Assistant Superintendent of Student, Clinical, and Instructional Services.

Ron began his career at Collège Béliveau as a guitar teacher, where he helped build a strong and memorable music program. He later moved into school leadership, serving at Collège Béliveau, École Provencher, École Howden, and École St. Germain before joining the Board Office team. Across each of these roles, Ron brought a deep commitment to students, a strong belief in the importance of relationships, and a steady focus on improving learning for all.

In recent years, Ron has played an important role in advancing LRSD’s work in literacy, early screening, inclusive education, evidence-informed instruction, and student-specific planning. He has helped strengthen how the division supports students who learn differently and has worked closely with school teams, clinical services, instructional leaders, and research partners to ensure students receive timely and effective support.

Ron’s leadership has also helped connect LRSD’s work to important research and professional learning across Canada. Through partnerships with researchers and organizations, and through opportunities to share LRSD’s practices at conferences and with other school divisions, Ron has contributed to conversations about literacy, numeracy, early identification, French immersion, and the role of school systems in improving outcomes for students.

As Superintendent, I have had the privilege of working closely with Ron over the past five years. I have deeply appreciated his intelligence, calm presence, humour, loyalty, and humanity. Ron has a rare ability to keep complex conversations grounded in what matters most: students, families, staff, schools, and the common good.

Ron’s contributions to LRSD are real, lasting, and deeply respected. His work will continue to benefit students and educators well beyond his retirement.

Au nom de la Division scolaire Louis-Riel, merci, Ron, pour tes 32 années de service, de leadership et d’engagement envers l’éducation publique. Nous te souhaitons une retraite remplie de paix, de fierté et de reconnaissance. Tu l’as pleinement méritée.
