Learn More About Hosting a Student
Why open your home to an international student?
Opening your heart and home to an international student is an opportunity to welcome another world into your everyday life. Homestay is about connection, sharing traditions and creating new memories. By hosting a high school international student, you get to see Winnipeg through their eyes, experiencing a newfound joy for the city you call home.
Homestay builds global and local community. It creates opportunities to connect with other homestay families here in Winnipeg through monthly events, creating a network of people who value cultural learning and meaningful relationships.
You’re supported every step of the way. The International Program and its dedicated Homestay Coordinator provides training, ongoing guidance, and access to a 24/7 emergency line. Families also receive a generous stipend to help offset the cost of hosting.
