Who We Are

History of H.S. Paul School

H.S. Paul School is an elementary school serving students from Kindergarten to Grade 8 within the Louis Riel School Division. Located at 160 Southglen Boulevard in Winnipeg, the school opened its doors to students in the fall of 1989. The single‑storey building, constructed of light and medium brown brick, was designed to serve the growing St. Vital community.

The school is named in honour of Henry Southwood “Harry” Paul, a respected municipal leader who served as Mayor of St. Vital after many years on the community council. Known for his dedication to public service and community development, Paul’s legacy is commemorated through H.S. Paul School and Harry Paul Park (now named Florence Pierce Park). The school continues to reflect his commitment to community, service, and education.
