Interventions to Support Positive Student Development

Responses to student behavior that contravene our Code of Conduct follow provincial, divisional and school policies and guidelines.

When supporting and responding to student behaviour, we will consider each student’s unique needs, age, and stage of development. Our approach is designed to maintain every student’s dignity, foster positive relationships, and provide meaningful opportunities for learning and growth. All interventions are respectful and informed by current educational and behavioral research.

Interventions may include the following:

  • Meetings with parents/guardians, teachers, and staff to create a supportive plan.
  • Involvement of student services or support teams.
  • Behaviour intervention plans and restorative practices.
  • Alternative learning spaces or plans as needed.
  • Restitution and restorative meetings.
  • Disciplinary consequences as outlined in provincial, divisional and school policies.
