Exploring the Solar System in Grade Six

In our grade 6 classroom, we are exploring the solar system... and its no little task!

We started with a persuasive essay to convince Mme Michèle of the best planet or moon to inhabite. Following that, we researched our cosmic destination to create an alien that could survive on its surface. We looked at the digestive, neurological and skeletal systems to design a creature that could thrive in space, particularly on our specific planet or moon. Then we used an online program, with the help of Mr. Siaux, to create a 3D model of our alien, and used a 3D printer to bring it to life. Finally, we will be participating in the "Aerospace Day" at the Royal Aviation Museum next week. We look forward to continuing our hands-on learning!
