February is I LOVE TO READ Month!
We are excited to announce a month-long celebration of reading at Samuel Burland School. February is I LOVE TO READ month! Throughout this upcoming month, staff have planned a variety of exciting activities and events to ignite and sustain the love for reading for our students.
Attached is a calendar of optional activities for families. We encourage you to explore the Louis Riel Divisional Library resources; SORA – the LRSD Digital Library, TumbleBooks, and World Book Online. We also encourage you to visit the Winnipeg Public Library for books and activities.
Some important dates to remember:
February 9th – Wear words to school.
February 16th – Dress up as your favourite book character.
February 23rd – Wear your PJs, bring a stuffy, and a flashlight for flashlight reading at school.
