Frontenac students organize donation drive for fire evacuees

Frontenac’s Grade 7/8 Leadership Team quickly mobilized to spearhead a donation drive for Manitoba forest fire evacuees after noticing the many families being displaced. The students asked our community to focus on collecting items children could use such as crafting supplies, toys, books and hygiene products.

Students, families, and staff brought in many supplies that were delivered to the Manitoba Metis Donation Centre on MacGregor. We also delivered cards with positive messages made by Ms. Cook’s Grade 1/2 class.

Another way we are helping is hosting open gym time at lunch for donations which will be delivered to the Manitoba Red Cross.

We are proud of the effort our Leadership students have made to help our fellow Manitobans. Our thoughts are with the evacuees.
