A huge thank you to all of the volunteers, supporters and sponsors of the Community BBQ put on last night by our 2024 WPC Grads. It was a huge success and we could not have done it without your support!

Tomorrow there will be a hot dog sale in front of the main office at lunch! $5 for a combo including a hot dog, a drink and a bag of chips, or $2 for a hot dog! Come support your graduating class of 2024. Tap and cash accepted.

If any staff or students are parking in the medical parking lot across the back lane, please refrain from parking there or you will be towed.

Grad Dinner and Safe Grad tickets deadline has been extended to Saturday, May 25th at 11:30 pm. Please remember to also complete your Grad/Safe Grad forms and return to office by May 27th.

Attention Royals! Registration for the first ever, Flag Football tournament is posted up around the school. Use the QR code to sign up your team of 5-7 players before Tuesday May 28 to compete, have fun AND earn a Phys Ed block. The team fee of $20 will be collected to support Safe Grad. Payment can be made to Mrs. Allan in room 30 (CIP room) by May 28th. We look forward to participating in this exciting event with you on Monday June 3. Youth Employment Services Manitoba are hosting an exciting, collaborative, and FREE Employment and Volunteer Resource Fair event on May 28th 2:30 – 6:30 pm at Windsor Park Library, coinciding with an early dismissal day. The event will offer:

•          Drop-in resume writing support (limited spots, first come first serve), resume reviews, and other employment resources;

•          Drop-in interview practice with RBC;

•          A comprehensive job board of local employment opportunities;

•          A volunteer opportunity board, and information about volunteering with Volunteer Manitoba;

•          Resources on how to work safely and other important information for young workers, with SAFE Workers of Tomorrow.

Reminder to all Grade 12 students that the WPC In-House Scholarship Application form is now open. The link has been sent to you through Teams and is available until June 3rd – no late applications accepted. Please continue to check your Teams on a regular basis for important graduation related information and see Ms. Mauws with any questions. 

The annual LRSD Graduation Pow Wow will be held on Wednesday, June 5th at Dakota Collegiate. This is an opportunity for LRSD students, staff, families, and community members to celebrate its graduating students’ achievements and honour Indigenous culture. If you are a Grade 12 graduating student interested in participating, please send Ms. Mauws your name today. 

Today at lunch we will be selling Jamaican beef patties for $4 and doubles for $3. Tap and cash accepted in the main hallway.

Tomorrow after school we will have our third cultural cooking class! Come make Bosnian Burek! This delicious dish features meat, potatoes and spices, rolled up in a flaky pastry. Sign up with Ms Meyer, limited spots available for this FREE cooking class!
