Festival du Voyageur
We are thrilled to announce that the Festival du Voyageur celebrations are just around the corner. We are looking forward to a week filled with joy, cultural enrichment, and community spirit! Here's a glimpse of the exciting activities planned for the festivities:
February 21st - Presentation and assembly with Tibert et Douzie
We will be starting Wednesday on a high note with a special presentation and assembly featuring the lively duo, Tibert et Douzie. This promises to be an engaging and entertaining experience for our school to celebrate together!
February 22nd - Pancake Breakfast
We will be starting the day with a pancake breakfast for the whole school. PM Kindergarten students will also be given the opportunity to participate in the afternoon. We are in need of volunteers. Please see below to find how you can help support this activity.
*Volunteer Opportunity: Pancake Breakfast
To make our pancake breakfast a delightful experience for all, we are seeking parent volunteers! If you're interested in contributing to this event, please sign up to volunteer at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B044FACA92CA2F94-47311513-festival. Your support is invaluable, and we appreciate your dedication to making our school community vibrant and engaging.
*Important Information: Food Sensitivities and Allergies
We are conscious of food sensitivities and allergies, and it is our priority to ensure that all students can participate in the event. If your child has any dietary restrictions (besides nuts), kindly let us know by calling the school or emailing Lise McKellar at lise.mckellar@lrsd.net. Your cooperation will help us plan accordingly, ensuring a safe and inclusive celebration for everyone.
February 23rd - Festival Activities in the Gym
We end the week with a vibrant atmosphere of Festival du Voyageur activities in the gym.
We encourage all students to participate by wearing Festival du Voyageur attire all week long for our various activities. (plaid shirts, moccasins, ceinture fléchée) Hé ho! If you are saying “My child doesn’t have any Festival du Voyageur attire” no worries, we have you covered! See below to find out how you can get your attire.
Festival du voyageur merchandise
In the spirit of the festivities and its rich history, we are offering students and their families the opportunity to buy official Festival merchandise. Proudly wear the colours of the Festival and support the French-Manitoban culture! Attached is our order form (see page two for pictures of merchandise). If you require a hard copy of the order form, please contact the office. Cheque payable to École St. Germain or exact change only. Deadline: Wednesday, January 30th by 4pm – no late orders will be accepted.
We encourage you to mark these dates on your calendar, sign up to volunteer if you can, and join us for a weekend of cultural exploration and community bonding. Let's come together to make this Festival du Voyageur celebration a truly memorable experience for all.

Student Drop Off
We ask that families respect all traffic and parking laws during pick-up and drop-off, including in the St. Timothy’s parking lot. This includes reducing speed and refraining from making U-turns and drop offs in the front loop. In addition, please remember that the staff parking lot is not an area for student drop off. When walking to the school from the Church parking lot, please do not cut across the staff parking lot. It is a busy place at both times of day and we have noticed an increase in students and parents cutting across the parking lot. School and staff driving at the end of the lot to park are not expecting kids and adults to dart out between cars! Thank you for taking the small detour around the parking lot. These requests are made with the well-being and safety of our staff and students in mind.
