Parent Advisory Council - PAC

The Shamrock Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is open to all parents of Shamrock students. As a volunteer-run, non-profit organization, we promote inclusion and respectful collaboration in order to improve the school environment for our Shamrock students and staff. This includes fundraising to enhance the overall student experience with playground enhancements, school improvements and student learning support and activities. We strive to provide timely communications with our parents and community members. We also act as a liaison between the school, parents, LRSD school board and other organizations relating to the school division. 

The Shamrock PAC is always looking for more members. If you want to know more about what is going on at the school and have some time and/or ideas to contribute about how we can shape and benefit the school, we would encourage you to attend a meeting or send us an email (shamrockspac@gmail.com).

Current PAC Fundraisers and Projects

Holiday Board Game/Lego Donation Drive
 We are looking to collect new or used Lego for the school’s Lego club as well as new or used board games for the students to have available for any board game clubs or indoor recess options. Donations can be dropped off in the school office until December 20.
 

Fun Lunch Program 
 We organize fun lunch options to be brought into the school for our students. We are always looking for fun lunch volunteers. If you would like to volunteer or want to get involved, please email shamrock.funlunch@gmail.com
 

Fundraisers 
 Thank you to everyone who purchased from our Coal and Canary candle fundraiser. In 2024, fundraisers will include the annual Shamrock Read-A-Thon and Glenlea flower and plant sales.
 

2024 Community Events
 We are planning some fun events for Shamrock students and families in the new year, including a Family Board Game Night, Movie Night, Family Dance and Scholastic Book Fair. If you are interested in joining our planning teams, please contact us. More information about times and tickets will be available soon.
 

Babysitting Course for Shamrock Students
 Shamrock PAC will be coordinating a babysitting course at the school for interested grade seven and eight students on February 2, 2024. Registration information will go out in January. The course will be limited to 20 students.

 
 PAC Meetings

PAC regular meetings are held on the 1st Monday of the month, at 7:00 p.m. All Shamrock parents and guardians are welcome to join.

Our next PAC meeting will be Monday, January 15, 2024 in the school library.
