Glenlawn Foods and Nutrition Class

Or as we know them

The Grade Twelves, Two Elevens and Mrs. O'Dowd

The grade twelves and two elevens were very good helpers.  They talked to us about food and hunger and people not having enough food. They talked about how we could help others by planting food and donating food to Winnipeg Harvest.  Then they showed us what they meant.  The Glenlawn students had planted seeds about a month ago.  The tomatoes plants and wild flowers were up and ready us.  We each got two plants.  One for the planter at the school and one for ourselves to take home.

Together we weeded the planter outside our class.   We coloured popsicles sticks to mark our plants.  We planted the wild flowers.  Our planter is beautiful again.  The grade twelves and two elevens were great.  They were friendly and fun and we wish they would come again to help us.  At the end we all got gummy worms, even the Glenlawn students.

A special thanks to Mrs. O'Dowd the Glenlawn Foods and Nutrition teacher.  We really enjoyed the cross-grade, cross-school learning.
