With the arrival of 2021, we thought we would share an update related to the registration process at École Sage Creek School for the 2021-22 school year. We look forward to meeting and working with our new students and their parents. It must be noted that only students living in Sage Creek (or who will be living in Sage Creek by September 2021) may attend École Sage Creek School (ÉSCS). As we begin to prepare for the 2021-22 school year, due to Covid, it is clear that we will have to make some changes related to our typical registration process.
Kindergarten
Typically, at the end of February, we offer two Kindergarten Information Evenings for Sage Creek parents of children who will be of "Kindergarten age". For your child to be eligible to register for Kindergarten for the upcoming school year (Sept 2021), your child must be born during 2016, (they must be turning five, on or before December 31, 2021). Although our school is currently overpopulated, please note that all children born in 2016 and who live in Sage Creek (or will be living in Sage Creek in September 2020) will be enrolled at our school.
Because parents cannot currently enter the school, we cannot offer our typical "in-person" Kindergarten Information Evenings therefore we are waiting for direction from the Louis Riel School Division, as they finalize how schools will share information to parents in a virtual way.
What we do know is that we will be sharing the typical "Kindergarten Information Evening" information with parents virtually, in February. This will include:
- Sharing information related to what you can expect from our Kindergarten programs. Please note that Kindergarten is a "half-day" program.
- Explaining the two language programs offered at École Sage Creek School (English and French Immersion).
- Answering questions.
- Giving you an opportunity to explore the school (virtually).
- Late in February, we will be making available the Kindergarten Registration packages and sharing more information related to the registration process (including how to indicate a preference for AM or PM, etc...).
More information about the virtual Kindergarten Information Evenings, the registration packages as well as the registration process (that typically starts at the beginning of March) will be available at the beginning of February therefore we encourage you to revisit our website at that time for more information.
If you have friends or neighbours who live in, or will be living in Sage Creek in September 2021, who also have children born in 2016, we would appreciate if you let them know that Kindergarten registration information will be available on our website, near the beginning of February.
Older students who wish to attend ÉSCS
The registration process for older students living in Sage Creek (who presently attend a school other than ÉSCS, and whose parents wish to register them at ÉSCS for next year) will also be starting at the beginning of March. Near the beginning of February, we will be sharing more information related to registration process for older students and late in February registration packages will be made available to families. Please revisit our website near the beginning of February.
