Family of Schools Mentorship

This week Windsor Park Collegiate's ECHO students welcomed Frontenac School's Indigenous Mentorship group to WPC, building on a partnership that began in September in preparation for our Family of School's Walk for Reconciliation on Orange Shirt Day.

Our group of students spent their time together learning the vocabulary, content and art of various picture books such as David Alexander's When We Were Alone and The Friendship, by Betty Lynxleg in preparation for our next meeting at Frontenac School.

In the spirit of Reconciliation our older student mentors will be reading picture books to Ms. Farkas' 2/3 class in Friendship circles, as part of our on-going work learning about the Treaties, Friendship, Reconciliation and Culture.

We are looking forward to the next steps on our journey.
