The following are some of the details of what needs to be done and what will happen over the next few months as your son or daughter enrolls at Windsor Park Collegiate.
Step One: Read through the list of Grade 9 compulsory and optional courses.
Step Two: Decide on five elective courses which should be numbered in order of priority (Do not include English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education or Reading is Thinking. These are compulsory courses and will automatically be included in the course load).
Step Three: On February 23 all students will receive a course selection sheet and an internet usage form from their home school teacher. There will also be a Parent Information Evening at Windsor Park Collegiate on February 23 giving parents the opportunity to review the options to help make informed decisions.
Step Four: Sign and return course selection sheet, internet usage agreement along with registration fees of $90, and any extra fees. This will determine your child's official registration. This must be done before March 3rd in order for the student to complete online registration.
Step Five: A student services teacher will be coming to the school to assist your class with online registration between March 6 and March 10.
Step Six: Timetables and opening day information will be mailed out in late August to those students that have paid fees for 2019-20.
All students will be enrolled in 9 courses: 5 compulsory, one compulsory elective and three electives from their list. Once choices have been made and finalized, classes will be organized and staff determined. Courses that have very low enrollment may not be offered or may be combined with others. It is important that you put a lot of thought into the courses that you want as it will be very difficult to make changes to course requests at a later date.
