École St. Germain PAC

École St. Germain (ESG) has an active Parent Advisory Council (PAC). We welcome new members at any time. If you are curious about what we do and are interested in getting more involved, please join us at a PAC meeting. We typically meet the first Wednesday of every school month at 7:00 p.m. in the school library. If you wish to take advantage of our babysitting services during a meeting, please contact the school at least one day prior to the meeting date.

If you cannot attend our meetings, but are interested in getting involved, we encourage you to contact the school at (204) 254-0120 and someone will be in touch.

About PAC

École St. Germain's PAC is a not-for-profit organization that is comprised of parent volunteers from the school and school administration. In general, we operate to enhance our children's educational experience. We have the following Standing Committees:

  1. Education Committee
  2. Environment Committee
  3. Fundraising Committee

We also establish other Ad Hoc Committees such as the Fall Barbecue and Staff Appreciation as required. The Fall Barbecue is an event we hold to foster school and community spirit. 

Each year we decide on our goals, and then fundraise in order to achieve them. In past years our projects have included Mount St. Germain, a new swing set in the playground, the school sign, sports uniforms, instruments for the music program, microwaves, classroom equipment, iPads and new outdoor equipment. We continue to plan natural playground enhancements for our outdoor space.  Additionally, each year we also fund:

  1. Student Leadership recognition and reward programs (e.g. lunch monitors, patrols) to a maximum of $1,500.00
  2. Staff Appreciation Week
  3. Bourse École St. Germain ($500.00) for a past École St. Germain student who graduates from Collège Jeanne Sauvé

École St. Germain PAC meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every school month. The meetings take place in the ÉSG library at 7:00 p.m. With a minimum of 24 hour advance notice, babysitters will be provided. All parents welcome.  Minutes from each meeting are posted at the bottom of this page.

Ongoing Fundraisers

Please help us by participating in the following programs:

Farm to School - Peak of the Market

Each fall PAC sends home a sign up for inviting you to participate in the Farm 2 School fundraiser put on by Peak of the Market. Students sell bundles of Canadian grown vegetables and half the money collected is kept by our school. That's a 50% profit!  The vegetables are delivered to École St. Germain in October in time for Thanksgiving.  Help those less fortunate by buying an extra bundle for Winnipeg Harvest.

Gift Card Sales

Each year PAC sells grocery store gift cards (Sobeys, Co-op) to raise funds.  We receive up to 10% of the total amount of cards sold.  This is a popular fundraiser as everyone needs to buy groceries.  PAC will send home instructions and order forms. 

Show & Save

PAC sells Show & Save Coupon Books/Cards to fundraise.  We receive a set amount for each book sold.  The books are good for a full year and you can easily make up the price paid for the book ($20). 


Each fall PAC will send home a catalogue for families to order magazine subscriptions and other products like greeting cards and photo albums. Please IGNORE your subscription renewal notices, and instead place your orders with us to help the school. During the fall campaign, QSP/ will match the best pricing you can find. All you have to do is include the other promotional materials along with your order.

Campbell's Labels for Education

Labels from many Campbell's products are eligible for this program. Please visit to see what labels you can submit. Please keep the labels flat (not rolled up with an elastic) and have your child(ren) deposit the labels in the container in the main hallway.  We can submit these labels to earn points that can be used to order sporting and music equipment for the school. 

Upcoming Events

Throughout the year there are many school-community events such as the Welcome Back Barbecue, Movie Nights, Festival du Voyageur activities, etc. which are supported by the PAC in collaboration with the school.  You will receive information either via email or brought home with your child(ren) as these events draw near.  We always need volunteers at these events so please donate your time where ever possible.
