Thanks Monsieur JJ

November 25, 2020

IMG_9901.JPGFor those that haven't heard, we recently wished a happy and healthy retirement to Monsieur JJ, our longstanding Head Custodian. It's certainly been a different start to the school year here in 2020, but one thing that did not change was the daily commitment and effort that we witnessed this fall with Monsieur JJ. Our staff has been very fortunate to have JJ with us in preparing for this challenging time, as each room had to be refurnished or reconfigured to maximize physical space. This had to be done within a very tight timeframe, but JJ welcomed the challenge and got it all done. This was his work ethic long before the pandemic as well. JJ has also given his all to his colleagues to make the classrooms, the hallways, the school yard always looking well-kept and as safe as possible. Although there are no signs of having a school concert anytime soon, we will always remember JJ's eagerness to help us with past concert props, instruments, and anything else that was asked of him to help make the concerts a perfect event. We all have very fond memories of JJ and wish him a retirement that is healthy, active and (as JJ would often say) 'bright and shiny!'. Merci encore, JJ. We wish you all the best with your loved ones.

Number sense in Mme Hynes’ Grade 2 Math class this morning. Students were sent on an in-class scavenger hunt to discover the hidden colour-coded image on their page. What a fun way to practice understanding ‘les dizaines et les unités’!
