Glenlawn Hockey FAQ's

Who can play?

Anyone who registers at Glenlawn can try out for the boys or girls hockey teams.

When are tryouts?

Tryout information will be circulated and is available in the spotlight story until September 30th, 2021.

Who are the coaches?

Mr. Dean Rigaux (boys) & Mr. Guy Anderson (girls)

Where will the teams play and practice?

Glenwood Arena & St. Vital Arena

What times are the games and practices?

Most games will start between 4-4:30 pm.  Practices will typically start around 3:15 pm and we will make every attempt to give students who make the team E-Slot spare.

How many games and practices can we expect?

Approx. 40 practices, 30 games

What about Dryland?

Each team will decide if they will be doing dryland after the teams have formed.  We will use our own facility at Glenlawn.

Each team will enter one to two tournaments if possible.  The girl's league has an additional tournament to help teams determine the division that is right for them.  The Boys  & Girls Out-of-Town tournaments are TBD and subject to LRSD approval.

What about team clothing?

Players will get to keep one jersey per year.  Mandatory items include warm up t-shirt, shorts and track jacket.  Additional Glenlawn hockey clothing will be a la carte and will be available after the teams have been selected.

How many players per team?

Typically teams will be comprised of 15 players and 2 goalies.  Roster sizes may grow by 2-3 players if students that are trying out for higher caliber teams are released after our tryout process has been completed.

What are the fees and what do I get for my money?

The two leagues have different requirements and therefore different costs associated.  We have built into our fees:
