Glenlawn Athletic Events

Terms:

MHSAA – Manitoba High School Athletics has terms that are used to organize levels for provincial championships.

  • Junior Varsity (JV)– means players in Grade 10 make up the team
  • Varsity – means player in Grade 11 and 12 combined to make a team
    • Varsity can also be used as a term if the school only has one team that comprises of all 4 grade levels

Below is a table that will be continually updated with the sports we offer at GCI and who is eligible for each team

Open to all runners but advancement to races is dependent on times

1 – Male Team  (all grades but limited availability at the grade 9 level)

Indoor Soccer1 – Female Team  (all grades)
1 – Male Team  (all grades)
Late September to mid-March
Volleyball1 or 2 – Grade 9 female team(s)
1 or 2 – Grade 9 male team(s)
1 – JV female team
1 – JV male team
1 – Varsity female team
1 – Varsity male team
Early September to first week of December
Water Polo1 or 2 - female team(s)
1 – male team
Late September to mid-November
Basketball1 or 2 – Grade 9 female team(s)
1 or 2 – Grade 9 male team(s)
1 – JV female team
1 – JV male team
1 – Varsity female team
1 – Varsity male team
