Who We Are

Dakota Collegiate is one of the most innovative, progressive, and inclusive secondary schools in Manitoba. Close to 100 elective courses and more than 60 extra-curricular groups and activities make it easy to find your place. Realize your potential and become a Lancer for life!

About Us

Dakota Collegiate Institute is one of the most innovative, progressive and inclusive secondary schools in Manitoba. With close to 100 elective courses and more than 60 extra-curricular groups and activities, virtually every student can find a fulfilling place in the Lancer community.

Outstanding staff

Our students benefit from an experienced teaching and educational support staff, many with advanced degrees and who have been recognized for outstanding achievements in education. We are committed to helping every student reach their academic, vocational and social goals regardless of their ambitions or perceived limitations.

Students that achieve

Dakota students are regularly recognized for outstanding academic, athletic and extracurricular achievements. Of students pursuing an academic stream, 99% get accepted into a university program upon graduating. A variety of specialized programs that support the specific needs of students facing physical, emotional and cognitive challenges mean that Dakota helps prepare every student for success.

Preparing today's students for tomorrow

In keeping with our commitment to innovation, Dakota Collegiate was the first high school in Manitoba to make digital technology integral to the learning process with its 21st Century Learning initiative. Going beyond putting computer laptops in the hands of every student, this initiative involves transforming the learning experience, making it more relevant to the digital world students inhabit.

Lancer pride

Our graduates have found success in every sector of our community and economy. Lancers hold positions in political life, as professional athletes, journalists, business executives, educators, artists and as tradespeople. Many have enduring connections to Dakota, giving proof to our motto that once a Lancer, you're a "Lancer for life."
