Safety
The Louis Riel School Division is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all staff, students, families, and community members.
Emergency Response Planning
The safety and well-being of student, staff, families, and community members is a top priority in the Louis Riel School Division (LRSD). Emergencies can occur with little warning, making preparation, planning, and coordination essential to ensuring safe learning and working environments.
LRSD maintains comprehensive emergency preparedness procedures to help schools and worksites respond effectively to a wide range of situations, including fires, medical emergencies, severe weather, hazardous materials incidents, lockdowns, hold and secure situations, and other critical events. These procedures are guided by Policy EBCA – Emergency Preparedness, which establishes a consistent framework for emergency planning and response across all schools and worksites.
Each LRSD school develops and maintains a Building-Specific Emergency Response Plan and Fire Safety Plan tailored to its facility, population, and operational needs. Plans are reviewed annually and updated as required to reflect changes in building use, staffing, emergency contacts, or procedures.
