The Windsor Park Royals football program celebrated a successful Homecoming week while recognizing the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
The team, made up of students from both Windsor Park Collegiate and Collège Béliveau, wore orange jerseys during the Royals' junior varsity and varsity home games in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
The junior varsity Royals opened the week with a 34-14 win over Murdoch MacKay on Sept. 29. The varsity team followed with a 15-12 victory over the River East Kodiaks on Oct. 2. Both games were played at Falcons Football Club.

A highlight of the varsity game was a special halftime performance by Windsor Park Collegiate student Ethan Beaulieu and his father, Gator Beaulieu, an Anishinaabe country singer-songwriter from Winnipeg. Together, they shared traditional Métis fiddle and guitar music with the crowd.
More than 300 spectators attended the junior varsity game, while more than 500 students, families, alumni and community members filled the stands for the varsity matchup under the Friday night lights.
The pair of victories capped off a memorable Homecoming week that brought students, families, alumni and community members together in celebration of school spirit, sport and community.
