EDGE Programs
Adult language learning and literacy programs supporting newcomers and community members
EDGE ESL (LINC)
Part-time scheduling supports adults balancing language learning with family and work commitments.
The part-time EDGE ESL/LINC program is funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada and helps newcomer adults improve listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
- Follows Canadian Language Benchmark and PBLA requirements
- Designed for newcomer adults, including people with part-time/shift work
- Care for Newcomer Children is available (ages 19 months to 5 years)
- Runs with school calendar (mid-September to mid-June)
Eligibility
- Newcomer to Canada
- Permanent Resident
- Residing in St. Vital or St. Boniface areas
- Available part-time Monday to Friday

EDGE Literacy
EDGE Literacy is funded by Manitoba Education and Training (Adult Learning and Literacy) and supports adults in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and employability skill development.
- Classes offered Monday to Thursday (morning or afternoon)
- Runs from mid-September to June
- Continuous intake throughout the year
- Program participation is free

- Improve everyday reading and math
- Work toward high school completion
- Prepare for college or university
- Strengthen job-readiness skills
