At our last public meeting of 2018, held December 18, 2018, the Louis Riel School Board reflected on the many innovative and imaginative practices taking place in our school division. We know that the New Year will see both challenge and opportunity before us, and your school board remains committed to the conversations and work that will ensure LRSD remains strong, stable, and focused on student well-being, achievement and success.
Our hearts have been warmed by the many acts of generosity taking place in all LRSD buildings this month. Our community is fortunate that the spirit of caring and sharing has become commonplace in LRSD not just at Christmas, but throughout the year. We couldn't be prouder.
Trustees will have attended concerts and events at 23 schools and buildings in December by the time the winter break begins on Friday. This includes coffee and conversation with staff at the Monterey, Maginot, and Norberry offices organized by our Community Connections Committee. We have thoroughly enjoyed seeing our students perform, and we value the opportunity for connecting with parents, families, and staff that these occasions afford us.
The Trustees of the Louis Riel School Board would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, the happiest of holidays, and a joyous New Year! We sincerely hope that your traditions, celebrations, festivities and important time with family and friends include lots of love and laughter. -Sandy Nemeth, Chair, LRSD School Board
