To our entire Louis Riel School Division (LRSD) community—we hear you.
Your questions, feedback and concerns that you are sharing with myself and my colleagues are coming through loud and clear.
Each email, phone call and social media comment is reviewed to ensure our team, who has been working for months on our Navigating the 2020-2021 School Year plan, understands your perspective and continues to work towards a solution.
I know the plan we have posted on our website is substantial and, for some, perhaps not as finalized as they had hoped.
In the coming days and weeks, we will provide details and clarification on many of the issues that have been brought to our attention.
Our plan is continually revised and updated as new information or direction is provided, and we understand that it can be challenging to stay on top of what has changed.
From now on, you will notice an improvement in how we identify, focus and communicate the changes to make it easier to find the information that matters to you.
We’ll be posting a schedule on when you can find answers to many of your questions, from practical arts in schools to sports, music and cohorts of students, just to name a few.
We will be sharing details on school bus transportation by Friday, August 21. We will be providing information on how we will implement two metres of physical distancing for all staff and students in schools by Friday, August 28.
To ensure adequate time and focus is provided to each student and their parents/guardians during the first week of school, a re-entry schedule that includes the specific day and time to come to school will be provided by Sept. 4.
Schools will also provide a timetable that ensures a controlled and limited entry and departure of students from the school building for the first day of classes and the remainder of the school year. Schools will share this timetable with their community by Sept. 4.
There are more details to come, and we will provide them to our community when they are finalized.
We encourage you to follow our social media channels for the latest news and visit our website for all updates.
