The Manitoba Association of School Social Workers (MASSW) is one of two new MTS SAGE groups this school year. The MASSW started with a small group of social workers from across Manitoba with a shared desire to connect school social workers. The organization was endorsed by the Manitoba Teachers' Society as an official Special Area Group of Educators in June 2018. What was most exciting was the response of social workers across the province to this new initiative. We are pleased to boast a membership of over 100 School Social Workers, uniting and connecting clinicians in all corners of our province.
The MASSW is excited to bring Social Workers together across the province! The MASSW is devoted to enhancing the profession of School Social Workers and other helping professions by offering professional development that focuses on supporting students and families. The mission of MASSW is to advocate for social workers both in and outside of the education system. The MASSW strives to meet the needs of service providers working with Manitoba families and communities.
