Microsoft Canada, Minecraft: Education Edition and the Louis Riel School Division (LRSD) are proud to announce the completion of Manito Ahbee Aki, the first Minecraft teaching resource in the world that honours, celebrates and explores a Manitoba Anishinaabe community.
Christian Michalik, LRSD Superintendent, will host a virtual live event to introduce the world on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at noon. He will be joined by Hon. Dan Vandal, Minister of Northern Affairs, Rochelle Squires, Minister of Families and Minister responsible for Francophone Affairs, and Mayor Brian Bowman.
At the event, many of the people who helped bring Manito Ahbee Aki to life will share why this project is important to them and how it can positively impact others in LRSD, Manitoba, and worldwide.
There will also be a virtual tour of Manito Ahbee Aki and a chance to hear from some LRSD students who have played and helped build the game.
