Learning the Japanese Paper Folding Art of Origami at Darwin

December 20, 2018

Roberts Origami.jpg

During library period this past week, Mr. Fallis and Mrs. Patterson brought the grade 7 and 8's attention to some of the origami books as well as drawing, travel and craft books the library has to offer. Ms. Roberts joined the group that had assembled around the origami books, took out her special origami paper and ended up teaching the students how to fold paper cranes. It took the students about 30 minutes to move through the instructions and fold their cranes. They stayed focused and engaged the whole time! Ms. Roberts has taught origami before and always found it challenging. This group of students picked up the task quite easily and their cranes all turned out amazing!
