Henri Péloquin was named Assistant Superintendent of LRSD at the last Board Meeting of the year on December 18, 2018. Acting Superintendent Christian Michalik made the announcement to staff gathered at the Board Office at 900 St. Mary's Road the following morning.
"Henri stepped into the role as Acting Assistant Superintendent in January 2018 and immediately took on a diversity of portfolios," says Acting Superintendent Christian Michalik. "I am so happy that the Board officially appointed him and that we can start the New Year as a complete Senior Leadership Team, serving and supporting school-level and division-level staff, and ultimately the over 15,000 students in LRSD schools."
Henri says that he is pleased to officially take on the role, which includes the transportation and facilities portfolios, as well as oversight over the French Immersion family of schools.
"I have had the pleasure of being the Acting Assistant Superintendent for some months and came to really appreciate the work of those in the Senior Administrative Team. It is humbling to realize that there is still so much to learn even after 29 years in public education. I am proud to continue to serve the needs of the students, parents and employees of the Louis Riel School Division," he says.
Prior to serving at the Board Office, Henri worked as a teacher in the former St. Boniface School Division. His career in school leadership officially began in 2000 when he took on the role of Vice-Principal of Collège Béliveau. His journey continued when he was appointed Principal of École Henri-Bergeron. Shortly after the amalgamation of St. Boniface and St. Vital School Divisions, Henri was appointed Principal of Collège Jeanne-Sauvé where he spent 8 years as a proud Olympien, and then later became the Principal of J. H. Bruns Collegiate. Henri was appointed the Director of International Student Programming in November 2017 but was tapped to take on the Acting Assistant Superintendent role in early 2018.Congratulations Henri!-posted on December 21, 2018 by Michelle Lancaster, Communications Coordinator
