“The most important thing in communication is hearing what isn’t said”
I often end my messages with a quote, but this time I thought I would begin with one.
I chose this one in particular because we've been doing a great deal of communication lately, through our school registration survey, Thoughtexchange consultation and website stories, but sometimes the best way to understand what someone is saying is to have a face to face conversation.
While the pandemic prevents us from hosting a large in-person group gathering at this time, technology will provide what I hope will be the next best thing.
We are inviting all LRSD families and staff (many of whom wear both hats) to join us in a live-streamed Town Hall meeting on Sept. 2, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., to talk about our Navigating the 2020-2021 School Plan.
Our goal is to provide you with the answers to the questions you have been sending us and discuss the feedback you have been sharing about our plan.
The Chair and Vice-Chair from the LRSD Board of Trustees, along with me, the Superintendent, members of the Senior Leadership Team and special guest speakers will talk about the plan's critical elements and provide additional insight or clarity.
You will have the opportunity to share your thoughts on what you've heard and ask questions about the division's plan for a safe return to in-school learning.
I look forward to connecting with all of you at the LRSD Town Hall Live Event.
