After reviewing feedback from parents, students and educational stakeholders, Manitoba Education has announced that the 2020-2021 school year will begin on September 8 for students.
Teachers and staff will be asked to come into schools for three mandated non-instructional days on Sept. 2, 3 and 4 to prepare physical spaces, learn about public health protocols and engage collaboratively on approaches to reopening schools.
All school divisions across the province will be able to schedule an additional seven non-instructional days throughout the year. The Louis Riel School Division (LRSD) will be releasing its complete 2020-2021 calendar in the coming days.
Manitoba Education will be announcing more details on the reopening plan for schools soon.
LRSD will be releasing its comprehensive plan for reopening schools in 2020-2021 by Tuesday, June 30, at the latest.
