École George-McDowell is proud to celebrate our talented Grade 7 guitar ensemble, which earned national recognition by finishing in the Top 10 of the CBC Canadian Music Class Challenge.

Here is a second video produced by College Jeanne Sauvé students, many of whom are former ÉGM students: "Stitches"
Guitar students have covered a lot of ground already this year, from recording projects using GarageBand to preparing for the Winter Concert at McDowell, featuring the Grade 7 and 8 guitar students. In addition, the Grade 6 students took part in an introductory guitar course, gaining foundational skills. They can now strum basic chords and have created their own Music Hall of Fame exhibit.
Learning to play the guitar can be a rewarding, lifelong endeavor. The goal of the Louis Riel School Division Guitar Program is to provide students with a rich and comprehensive musical experience. Many students continue with guitar classes through the high school years.
