The Louis Riel School Division raised the Pride flag on May 29, bringing together students, staff and community members in recognition of Pride Month, which begins Monday.

The ceremony highlighted the division’s ongoing commitment to inclusion and belonging, while offering an opportunity to reflect on the importance of creating safe and respectful spaces for all.

Superintendent Christian Michalik said the moment serves as both a celebration and a reminder of shared responsibility.

“Pride is both a celebration and a commitment," he said. "A celebration of identity, courage, and community. And a commitment to continue building spaces where people feel safe, respected, and able to be themselves without fear.”

As Pride Month approaches, the Pride flag will stand as a visible symbol of support across the division and a reminder of the work that continues year-round.
