  • What should I do if my child is sick?

Students should stay home from school if they are sick, no matter how mild the symptoms. Click here to view an infographic on what you should do if your child or a member of your household is sick.

All members of the LRSD community are encouraged to follow the fundamentals outlined by Manitoba Public Health:

    • Stay home when sick
    • Practice frequent hand washing and respiratory etiquette
    • Perform routine cleaning and disinfection protocols with a focus on high-touch surfaces and common areas, including washrooms
    • Encourage vaccinations (COVID-19 and routine immunizations)

The Student and Staff Reported Absence Dashboards allow our community to monitor absences and the impact of COVID-19 in our schools. It is important to note that these dashboards are only as accurate as the self-reported data provided. Families are encouraged to continue reporting absences from school and disclose COVID-related absences.

In addition to COVID-19, the seasonal flu and a number of respiratory syncytial viruses (RSV) are circulating this year. Click here for resources and information from Shared Health Manitoba.
