On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Ifetayo (Tayo) Aremu as Principal of École Guyot, effective Aug. 1, 2026. The Board of Trustees confirmed her appointment at the Jan. 27, 2026, Regular Board Meeting.

Tayo began her career in education with the Winnipeg School Division, serving as a Classroom Teacher and in Student Support Services within French Immersion early years schools. In 2018, she joined Pembina Trails School Division, where she continued her work in French Immersion early years settings, first as a Student Support Services Teacher and later as the Divisional Learning Support Teacher. In 2024, Tayo joined the Louis Riel School Division as Vice-Principal at École Sage Creek School and, in 2025, transferred to the role of Vice-Principal at Collège Béliveau.

Tayo is a champion of innovation who leads with a deep belief in education as a powerful social equalizer. She fosters a culture of collective efficacy by building teacher agency, encouraging open dialogue, and promoting a shared sense of ownership in school improvement. Grounded in the understanding that schools play a vital role in advancing social equity, Tayo emphasizes strong literacy, numeracy, and language development while actively engaging families and the broader community.

She approaches leadership as a collaborative practice—working and communicating effectively with staff to support the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth of both educators and students. Through shared leadership and creative problem-solving, Tayo is committed to developing strong, independent learners and sustainable, innovative solutions.

Please join us in congratulating Tayo on her appointment and wishing her success in this new role.
