Sandy Nemeth

(204) 230-6475

Ward 3

School Board Member since 2010

A resident of Ward 3 for over 20 years, Sandy first ran for election to the board out of a desire to better understand the politics, processes and policies that guided and influenced the educational experience of her own children.

Eager to ensure LRSD students have a rich, fulfilling and successful K-12 experience, Sandy is unquestionably supportive of the Louis Riel School Division priorities for student learning.

Sandy is a strong proponent of visual and performing arts, believes in the need and value of student, parent and community voice and considers herself an ally of the LGTBQ community.

Social media plays a significant role in how Sandy learns, shares, connects and celebrates both LRSD and public education.

As of September 13th, 2016, Sandy is the Vice-Chair of the School Board, and continues to serve as the Vice-President for School Boards over 6,000 students on the Manitoba School Boards Association (MSBA) Executive. While any chance to talk and learn is time she considers well spent, her most profound, relevant, impactful and valued learning comes from being in LRSD schools, attending events and talking with students, parents, staff and administrators.
