The Louis Riel School Division would like to congratulate Melissa Brown, Manager of the René Deleurme Centre, on her appointment to the Indigenous Inclusion Directorate within Manitoba Education and Early Learning to serve as the Coordinator of Community Schools. Melissa will transition to the department by the end of the month.

Melissa joined us in September 2015 as a Family Centre Coordinator before moving into the School and Family Community Connector position in January 2016; she would be appointed the Manager of Community Programs in July 2022.

Melissa has been a steadfast supporter of community and, through her tenure, has worked to walk alongside individuals and families to understand their stories to better serve and lead.

We are excited for Melissa as she embarks on this new opportunity for personal and professional growth and look forward to continuing our work to support community schools.
