Winter Concert Information:

The Grade 7/8 Band concert is on Tuesday, January 23^rd at 7:00 p.m. Students should arrive at the school for 6:00 and the gym doors open at 6:30 p.m. We will do our best to provide a livestream at this Teams link for family members who are unable to attend in person.

The kindergarten to Grade 6 LIGHT-themed winter concert (with some accompaniment from the Grade 8 Guitar program) is on Thursday, January 25^th. Letters confirming the number of attendees for both the afternoon concert (1:45 p.m.) and the evening concert (6:30 p.m.) should have been turned in to the office last week or at the latest Monday morning. Tickets will be sent home early in the week, with families seeking extra tickets being contacted once we confirm the number available. Information has been sent home to kindergarten families about how to participate in the dress rehearsal and afternoon concert. The gym doors open at 1:25 for the afternoon concert and at 6:10 for the evening concert, with students being dropped off in their homeroom between 6:00 and 6:10. Students must be met by a parent in their homeroom after the concert. Here is the Teams link for a livestream of the evening concert.

Both concerts will feature a silver collection at the door, with proceeds supporting music programming. 

Divisional & Community Announcements:
1) LRSD is encouraging families to provide their feedback about the 2024-25 budget here.

2) K-12 students are invited to participate in the divisional Powwow Club. Students are grouped (K-6 or 7-12) and should be accompanied by an adult to the meetings. 3) Schools recognize Pink Shirt Day as a bullying awareness day on Wednesday, February 28^th. LRSD is putting together a bulk t-shirt order for staff and students who are interested. If you would like more information about ordering, please contact Micheline.scott@lrsd.net. 

4) Our students had a presentation at the school from Fubuki Daiko in December. Here is some information about their upcoming concert on Feb. 3rd.
