Background

At a community meeting on January 21, 2026, the Louis Riel School Board presented early details of the 2026–2027 draft budget. The plan proposes cuts to non-classroom expenses to maintain teaching staff and student support. The Board is seeking stable provincial funding to reduce local taxes and prevent layoffs.
