On Thursday, Oct. 23, more than 450 students from across the Louis Riel School Division participated in the annual Choral Celebration in Harmony with United Way at the Centennial Concert Hall. Students were grouped into Junior (Grades 5–6), Intermediate (Grades 6–8), and Senior (Grades 9–12) choirs.

Each choir had three rehearsals to prepare and memorize their music before performing on stage. For many students, it was their first experience singing in a large ensemble or performing in front of a full audience. Their dedication and enthusiasm were evident throughout the evening.

This year’s guest conductors supported both students and educators through the fast-paced rehearsal process:

  • Gabi Gallo conducted the Junior Choir
  • Heather Neufeld conducted the Intermediate Choir
  • Dorothy Dyck conducted the Senior Choir

Choral Celebration continues to support LRSD’s Multi-Year Strategic Plan by fostering musical growth, discipline, and collaboration among students. The event also strengthens connections across the division by involving families, educators, and community members.

Thanks to strong ticket sales, the event raised over $6,500 for United Way Winnipeg — a reflection of the generosity and support within our community.

We extend our sincere thanks to all families, friends, and staff who contributed to the success of this year’s Choral Celebration. Your support is deeply appreciated.
