First elected to the Louis Riel School Division Board of Trustees in 2010, Chris Sigurdson dedicated 16 years of service to supporting students, families, and public education. Inspired by his upbringing with educator parents and motivated by his own experiences as a parent, Chris brought a strong belief in the value of public education to his role as trustee. Throughout his tenure, he served the Board in a variety of leadership capacities, including as both Chair and Vice-Chair, helping guide conversations and decisions that shaped the future of the division.

Chris was an advocate for a strong and inclusive education system. He believes that all students deserve equal access to quality learning opportunities and worked to ensure schools remained places where every child could succeed. He championed priorities such as citizenship, student engagement, and literacy and numeracy, recognizing their importance in preparing young people for the future.

LRSD extends gratitude to Chris for his years of dedicated service and wish him the best in the future.
