  • Student Services

    ​Our student  services staff are available to respond to the personal, social, educational and career development of all students of Collège Béliveau. Classroom sessions cover topics such as transition to high school, dealing with decisions appropriate to adolescents, self-understanding and long-range career planning.

    Counsellors also assist teachers with the Health Program. Students can choose to see a student services teacher or they may be referred by parents, teachers and administrators. Students can be assured that problems or personal concerns will be discussed in a caring and confidential atmosphere.

    Educational Planning

    The student services teacher will assist students in areas of course selection and changes, secondary school alternatives, and post-secondary planning.

    Career Exploration

    Students can explore future job/career possibilities and/or training with the student services teacher.

    Personal Counselling

    Students can be assured that problems or personal concerns will be discussed in a caring and confidential atmosphere. The school has access to many resources, and outside agencies. Student Services also include specialists in the areas of psychiatry, psychology, social work, speech and language. 

    Community Service Credit

    Many Grade 9 to 12 students have completed volunteering placement hours and can receive a half-credit (55 hours) or a full credit (110 hours). Community Service is an excellent way to acquire many job-related skills and also looks great on a resume or when applying for Scholarships and Bursaries. Approval Forms are available Room 215. All forms must be signed and completed by parents, students and Placement Organizations.

    Take Your Kids to Work Day

    All Grade 9 students spent the day at work with a parent, friend, relative or volunteer host. Students will begin to develop an understanding of the world of work and learn to develop some of the skills required to succeed in the working world.

    Grade 12 Credit Checks

    Student Services Teachers meet with all Grade 12 students to review their credits and to complete a profile outlining their school activities, community involvement, athletic and artistic activities and achievements and honours.     We strongly encourage all Grade 12 students to drop by our offices to learn more about possible scholarships, Millennium Scholarships, Bursaries, Awards, Financial Aid, Apprenticeships, Career choices and Post-Secondary programs and prerequisites.

    Natural Helpers

    Natural Helpers is a Peer-Helping Program for students in Grade 9 to 12. It is a helping network within the school that helps young people help their friends with everyday problems, refer serious problems to trained individuals and take good care of themselves. Training is provided for those interested.
