The Louis Riel School Division values its shared responsibility to educate and care for our community's children and young people.

Families with non-school-aged children or those seeking before-and-after-school childcare may visit the Government of Manitoba website to assist them in locating a childcare facility in the LRSD community. Simply select the options that pertain to your search and click on "Winnipeg Area School Divisions."

Living Prairie Childcare

Living Prairie Childcare is the primary childcare provider in the school. Living Prairie has begun confirming spaces with families. The waitlist is currently closed. Families wanting to inquire as to their placement on the waitlist can email livingprairiechildcare@gmail.com. Note that Living Prairie is not returning phone calls at this time due to high volume of inquiries.

Rainbow Day Nursery – Located in Sage Creek School

LRSD has committed to transporting children between the current school and the new school if they are in the French Immersion program and will have a childcare space with Rainbow Day Nursery at Sage Creek School (315 Sage Creek Blvd.). Transportation will continue until they age out of their Rainbow space. Families that are not eligible for bussing will need to complete a paid seat application.

Children who were in Grades 1-5 at École Sage Creek School in 2024-2025 and have a space at Rainbow Day Nursery’s school-aged program will retain their spots until they age out of care at the end of their Grade 6 year. Children who were in Kindergarten at École Sage Creek School in 2024-2025 and had a preschool space at Rainbow Day Nursery can contact the childcare provider directly to confirm space for 2025-2026. Children who are currently in a preschool space at Rainbow Day Nursery and entering Kindergarten in 2025-2026 can retain their pre-school space for their Kindergarten year. Beginning 2026-2027, Rainbow Day Nursery will no longer accept new students in their school-aged program if they do not attend Sage Creek School.

GymKyds Gymnastics Centre – Before- and After-School Care Program

GymKyds will be providing transportation to and from the new school, beginning in September 2025. We advise parents whose children are enrolled in the GymKyds before- and after-school care program and who will be attending the new school to contact GymKyds directly to indicate that their child will be attending the new school in the fall and will require transportation before and after school.
