The LRSD Board of Trustees accepted Colette Daley’s retirement notice on Dec. 2, 2025.
Colette received her Bachelor of Education from Collège de Saint-Boniface in 1988 and began her career in St. James-Assiniboia School Division that same year.
She joined the former St. Vital School Division in 1989 when she accepted a teaching position at École Varennes. In 1997, she stepped into leadership as a designate teacher. After sixteen years at École Varennes, she transitioned to École Van Belleghem, where she once again quickly took on the role of designate teacher.
Colette was appointed Vice-Principal of École Marie-Anne-Gaboury in 2009, later serving as Vice-Principal of École Howden in 2012 and École Guyot in 2016. She became Principal of École Guyot in 2019, where her remarkable career with LRSD will come to a close.
Throughout her career, Colette has been known as a dynamic and conscientious educator whose calm and pleasant presence has been a steady source of strength for those around her. She fosters warm, positive rapport with staff, students, and the broader school community, consistently demonstrating compassion and a deep respect for the dignity of others. Her leadership is grounded in open, honest communication and the cultivation of strong, trusting relationships. Colette’s thoughtful approach and unwavering commitment to creating supportive, caring school environments have made her a deeply valued leader across the division.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Colette for her many years of dedicated service and leadership and wish her a well-deserved retirement.
