The LRSD Board of Trustees accepted the retirement notice for Carole Bonin on June 16, 2026.

Carole began her teaching career in 1994 at Shevchenko School in Border Land School Division. In 2003, she joined Louis Riel School Division at École Varennes, where she taught Grade 3/4. She later moved to Shamrock School in 2005, teaching Grade 6 French and supporting students in developing their language skills and confidence.

In 2008, Carole took on a divisional role as Conseillère en français de base, followed by a 2009 secondment to the Bureau de l’éducation française as a Basic French Consultant. Through these roles, she supported French language programming and educators across the division, demonstrating her deep commitment to language learning and student success.

Most recently, in 2022, Carole stepped into the role of Vice‑Principal at École Julie‑Riel, where her leadership has supported both student achievement and staff development.

Carole is a professional and effective communicator who consistently places students at the centre of her work. She ensures that the needs of all learners are reflected in thoughtful planning and problem-solving. A dedicated and hardworking educator, Carole believes that all students can succeed when provided with appropriate supports, guidance, and care.

Throughout her career in LRSD, Carole has demonstrated a strong commitment to the development of the French language in both French Immersion and English programs. She extended this commitment to the national level, serving as President of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers (CASLT) from 2021 to 2024.

Louis Riel School Division extends sincere appreciation to Carole for her years of dedication, leadership, and care. We wish Carole all the very best in her well‑deserved retirement.
